VPN Basics

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a service that creates a secure, encrypted connection between your device and the internet. When you connect to a VPN, your internet traffic is routed through a VPN server, helping protect your data on public and private networks while masking your public IP address.

A VPN can help protect your privacy by preventing others from easily viewing your internet traffic and by making your connection appear to come from the VPN server rather than your own IP address. This makes VPNs particularly useful when using public Wi-Fi, traveling, or accessing your home network remotely.

The impact on Internet speed is a potential concern when using any VPN.

It’s important to note that VPN speed depends on several factors, including the performance of your VPN hardware, your home internet upload speed, and the download and upload speeds at the remote location.
With KeepYourHomeIP, you can expect reliable and consistent VPN performance, as our dedicated infrastructure minimizes the slowdowns commonly associated with shared bandwidth.

Key Safety Features of KeepYourHomeIP VPN

1. Self-Ownership and Control
KeepYourHomeIP distinguishes itself by allowing you to own and control the entire VPN infrastructure. This means that you have direct authority over the security measures and operations of your VPN.

2. Increased Security through Ownership
The fact that KeepYourHomeIP is self-hosted at your home adds an extra layer of security. It eliminates reliance on third-party servers, reducing potential vulnerabilities associated with external hosting.

3. Personalized Security Measures
As the owner, you have the flexibility to implement and customize security measures according to your specific preferences and requirements.

4. Reduced External Risks
Since KeepYourHomeIP is not dependent on external VPN providers, it minimizes the risks associated with third-party involvement, providing a more controlled and secure environment for your online activities.

While KeepYourHomeIP offers enhanced security through self-ownership, it's important to ensure that you implement best practices in terms of securing your home network and VPN configuration. Regularly updating software, employing strong passwords, and following recommended security guidelines will further enhance the safety of your KeepYourHomeIP VPN.

There are several reasons why KeepYourHomeIP is different from traditional and corporate VPN services. Instead of connecting you to a shared VPN network, KeepYourHomeIP is designed around your own home internet connection, giving you a private way to connect back to your home from anywhere.

1. No Shared IP Address

With KeepYourHomeIP, your internet traffic is routed through your own home internet connection. You use your home IP address instead of a shared VPN IP address used by many other VPN customers.

2. Your Own VPN

KeepYourHomeIP gives you your own personal VPN connection rather than placing you on a shared VPN service used by many customers. Your VPN is tied to your home IP address, allowing you to use the same IP address wherever you are.

3. Secure Access to Your Home Network

KeepYourHomeIP also allows you to securely connect back to your home network while you're away. You can access your home devices and services while maintaining an encrypted VPN connection.

4. WireGuard Security

KeepYourHomeIP uses WireGuard to encrypt your VPN traffic and provide a secure connection between your device and your home network.

In short, KeepYourHomeIP gives you a personal VPN connection built around your own home network, with your own home IP address, no shared VPN IP, and secure access to your home from anywhere.
